Model and Bigg Boss 10 actress Lopamudra Raut can breathe a sigh of relief as the Santacruz Police have solved the burglary case at her home, arresting the main suspect, 26-year-old Chandan Kamlesh Mukhiya, a native of Bihar. The police recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 76 lakh, including cash, gold jewellery, and gold biscuits. Raut’s Santacruz apartment was burgled when she was away from the city from June 20 to July 27. Upon her return, she discovered the break-in and filed a report with the local police.
A joint team of Santacruz Police Station and Crime Branch officers was formed to track down the offender. They analysed CCTV footage from nearby locations, which led them to identify Mukhiya and track him down to his hometown in Bihar. During interrogation, Mukhiya admitted to targeting Raut’s locked flat while she was out of town, planning to use the stolen money to buy land in his sister’s name.
Mukhiya is currently in police custody as the investigation continues to retrieve the remaining stolen items. Lopamudra Raut, a renowned television personality, represented India in Miss United Continents 2016 and was the second runner-up on Bigg Boss 10. The police have successfully cracked the case, bringing relief to the actress and her fans.
