On June 16, Kundapur rural police apprehended Prasad alias Rabada, a 22-year-old resident of Karkigudde, Hattiangadi village, who had been evading law enforcement for six months. The accused was wanted in connection with multiple serious crimes, including attempted murder and theft. A total of seven cases were registered against him across Kundapur rural police station, Kundapur city police station, and Manipal police station. The Additional District and Sessions Court at Kundapur had issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Following a tip about his whereabouts in Bhatkal, the police launched an operation and took him into custody. The arrest was made under the guidance of Kundapur Circle Inspector Santosh A. Kaykini, with Sub-Inspectors Niranjan Gowda and Chandrakala M. Pattara leading the team. Staff members Sridhara Patil and Kiran B. Patil also participated in the operation. The accused was subsequently produced before the Additional District and Sessions Court of Kundapur, which remanded him to judicial custody. The Kundapur rural police had registered a serious case against him in February 2026, and he had been on the run since then.
