On June 22, Kundapura traffic police took action against vehicles parked on service roads near Koteshwar, following numerous complaints about traffic obstruction. The operation, led by Kundapur Traffic Station PSI Anoop Naik, targeted the stretch from Koteshwar underpass to Fish Town, where vehicles were parked, causing congestion and accidents. The service road, a key route for buses and private vehicles between Kundapur, Koteshwar, Udupi, and Haladi, was being used as a parking lot, despite repeated warnings from the police. Vehicles were parked near the underpass, a private hospital, Kinara junction, and other areas, posing a risk to traffic flow. As part of the crackdown, fines were imposed on vehicles parked on the service road, and the police have warned that the operation will continue to ensure smooth traffic and public convenience. PSI Anoop Naik emphasized that service roads are not parking areas and riders must adhere to this rule.
