On a day dedicated to recognising the tireless efforts of medical professionals, KMC Hospital Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Family Doctors Association and the Ayush Federation of India, celebrated Doctors’ Day 2026 with a special ceremony. Held at the hospital’s premises in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle, Mangaluru, the event brought together over 150 doctors, Heads of Departments, and other medical professionals. Dr. Dilip G. Naik, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE – Mangalore Campus, presided over the function, which included the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, cake-cutting, and felicitation of distinguished referral doctors.

A key highlight of the programme was an informative session on financial planning and investment strategies for doctors, presented by Dr. Pramod Rai, a renowned financial expert and Senior Consultant Urologist. The session aimed to empower doctors with practical knowledge on securing their financial future. As part of the celebration, KMC Hospital Mangaluru honoured several doctors for their outstanding service, including Dr. S. Srikanth Shenoy, Dr. K. Krishnaraj Bhat, and Dr. Krishna M. Gokhale, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pramod Kunder, Cluster Director, KMC Hospital Mangaluru, highlighted the crucial role of family physicians and doctors serving in peripheral areas. He emphasized the importance of recognising their contributions and strengthening partnerships to improve patient outcomes. The programme was attended by prominent figures, including Dr. Sadashiva Polanaya and Dr. G.K. Bhat Sankabithlu, who reiterated the need for collaboration between hospitals and community physicians to deliver accessible and comprehensive healthcare.
