Karnataka, July, 23: Earlier, the coastal part, Dakshina Kannada districts received equally brisk monsoon. But now since the last one week rains are raging in most of the districts of the state. Also, from today till July 27, the meteorological department has predicted that there will be heavy rain in many districts of the state.
Heavy rain is likely to occur in coastal, southern interior and northern interior parts of the state from today till July 27, the Meteorological Department said. Orange alert has been announced for the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Shimoga as a precaution against heavy rains. On the other hand, yellow alert has been announced for Hassan, Yadgiri, Kalabaragi, Dharwad, Belgaum and Bidar districts.
Also, Bagalkote, Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapur, Bellary, Bangalore, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Tumkur, Vijayanagar districts are likely to experience moderate rain.
The wind speed in the state will be 30-40 km per hour. Especially on the coastal side, wind speed of 40-45 to 55 km per hour is likely to blow. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, a warning message has been sent to fishermen in this area not to venture into the sea.
Also today, the state capital Bengaluru will have cloudy weather and there is possibility of moderate rain in some areas. The maximum temperature here is forecast to be 27 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature 21 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, due to overflowing rivers in Kalyan Karnataka, bridges have been flooded at some places and communication has been cut off. Due to heavy rain in Kalaburgi, Bidar and Yadgiri districts, many rivers are flowing at dangerous level.
On Saturday (July 22), Rain Raya created a big disturbance in Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu district. On the other hand, there have been incidents of huge trees being uprooted and roofs of houses collapsing.
On Saturday, Castle Rock in Uttara Kannada district received 28 cm rain, Yallapur 12 cm rain, Karkala, Siddapur, Kadra, Manchikere received 11 cm rain each. 10 cm each in Joida, Londa in Belgaum district, Sringeri in Chikkamagaluru district, Koppa. m.
