On Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar assigned district-wise responsibilities to Cabinet ministers, tasking them with conducting field inspections to assess the impact of floods and drought across the state. The ministers have been directed to visit their allotted districts, evaluate the situation in every taluk, and submit detailed reports to the government. This exercise aims to ensure timely relief and mitigation measures for areas affected by excess rainfall and drought conditions.
Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister G. Parameshwara will receive and review the reports submitted by the ministers. Parameshwara has been allotted Tumakuru district, while other ministers have been assigned to various districts, including T. Raghu Moorthy to Chitradurga, B.S. Byrathi Suresh to Chikkaballapura, and K.H. Muniyappa to Bengaluru Rural. Ministers such as Ramalinga Reddy, H.C. Balakrishna, and B.Z. Zameer Ahmad Khan have also been assigned districts, including Kolar, Bengaluru South, and Vijayanagara.
Ministers K.J. George, K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, and Madhu Bangarappa will oversee Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Shivamogga, respectively. Other districts, such as Vijayapura, Bagalkot, and Gadag, have been assigned to ministers M.B. Patil, Vijayananda Kashappanavar, and Basavaraja Rayareddi. The ministers will start visiting their assigned districts from Wednesday and submit their reports to the Revenue Minister.
