On Teachers’ Day in Doha, the Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) announced the relaunch of its Kannada Paathashala, aiming to nurture the language, culture and heritage of young Kannadigas living abroad.

The ceremony, attended by Dr. Purushottama Bilimale, President of the Karnataka Government Kannada Development Authority, also featured a specialised workshop for teachers and parents. Dr. Bilimale guided participants on age‑appropriate teaching methods, systematic curriculum integration and strategies to spark children's interest in Kannada.

KSQ Managing Committee members, including President Sri Subramanya Hebbagelu and Chairman of the Advisory Committee Dr. Ravi Shetty, played a pivotal role in planning and executing the initiative. Their coordinated effort underscored a firm commitment to promote the mother tongue among the diaspora.

Following the inaugural speeches by Sri Shashidhar H. B. and former President Sri H. K. Madhu, regular classes commenced. Sessions are scheduled every Friday at 9:30 am, divided into three levels to match students' learning stages. To foster a sense of belonging, each child received a KSQ‑branded T‑shirt and a water bottle.

Speakers highlighted the rich legacy of Kannada and urged parents to enrol their children, stressing that preserving the language strengthens cultural identity. The Karnataka Government Kannada Development Authority continues to support the programme, ensuring resources and guidance remain available.

KSQ calls on Kannadigas residing in Qatar to join the effort, reinforcing ties to their linguistic roots while providing a structured, community‑driven learning environment for the younger generation.
