On Monday, July 27, a Dubai-Mumbai IndiGo flight with 194 passengers and crew members on board made an emergency landing at Rajkot International Airport in Gujarat. The flight, numbered IGO 1452, was diverted to Rajkot after smoke was detected in the cargo hold area. At 2:45 pm, an emergency was declared at the airport, and the aircraft landed safely at 3:27 pm. All passengers were evacuated without any injuries, and technicians began examining the plane to determine the cause of the smoke. According to Inspector KP Taretiya of the Airport Police Station, the pilot informed Air Traffic Control about the suspected smoke and sought permission for an emergency landing. The passengers were shifted to a designated area inside the airport terminal, and the airline’s technical team inspected the aircraft. Fortunately, there was no fire in the aircraft, and the passengers were safe. The incident occurred on July 27, 2026, and the airline is investigating the cause of the smoke.
