Indian-origin man stabbed to death in London
London: A 38-year-old man of Indian origin was stabbed to death in London. A few days before this, Tejaswini Koontham (27) of Hyderabad, who was pursuing ‘Master of Science (MSc)’ from Britain, was stabbed to death at her home in North London. According to Britain’s Metropolitan Police, “On 16 June (Friday) officers arrived at a residential complex on Southampton Way in Camberwell upon receiving information about the incident. There he found a person named Arvind Sasikumar in a delirious condition. There were marks of knife attack on his body.
He died on the spot on Friday late night at 1.31 am. Police said that on June 17 (Saturday), Salman Salim, 25, of Southampton Way, was charged with murder. Salim was produced at Croydon Magistrates’ Court the same day. He will be produced at the Old Bailey on June 20, till then he will remain in custody. According to the news of the newspaper ‘Evening Standard’, Sasikumar’s family has been informed and officers of the Metropolitan Specialist Crime Command will provide all possible help.
According to the news, it has been revealed in the postmortem report that Sasikumar died due to stabbing in the chest. A police spokesman said, “When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been attacked with a knife. Medical professionals tried to save him, but he died at the scene.” Harriet Harman, MP for Camberwell and Peckham, described the incident as “appalling” and expressed his “deepest sympathies to the bereaved family”.
