India will host Miss World 2023 after 27 years
New Delhi: India is all set to host Miss World 2023 after a gap of 27 years, with the international beauty pageant returning to the country after nearly three decades.
The date for the 71st edition of the much awaited Miss World pageant is yet to be fixed. But it is expected to be held in November this year.
India last hosted an international beauty pageant in 1996.
“I am delighted to announce that the finals of the 71st Miss World pageant will be held in India… We can’t wait to share your unique and diverse culture, world-class attractions and amazing locations with the rest of the world. The finals of the 71st Miss World pageant will be held in India and showcase the achievements of 130 national champions,” said Miss. Julia Morley, president and CEO of the World Institute, said at a press conference on Thursday.
He said the month-long competition, which will involve contestants from more than 130 countries, will include a series of tough competitions including talent show, sports challenges.
