Dubai: Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur could face a two-match ban for damaging sporting equipment and criticizing umpires after India vs Bangladesh’s tied third and final ODI on Saturday, which could mean she will miss the opening matches of the Asian Games.
Harmanpreet Ho was given out lbw off Nahida Akhtar but claimed that the ball had hit the bottom of her bat. Before returning to the pavilion, he took out his anger on the stumps. After this, he criticized the umpires in the prize distribution ceremony and even said that the umpires should attend the trophy ceremony with both the teams.

Due to his rude behaviour, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana left the place along with her team and advised the Indian captain to learn manners. Sources in the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) told PTI on condition of anonymity, “He has been accused of damaging sporting goods and criticizing match officials and discussions are on whether to add three demerit points to his account or four.”
He said, “If four demerit points are received within 24 months, then the player may have to stay out of one Test or two limited overs matches. In this case, he may have to stay out of two matches of the Asian Games.
