Bangalore: Corona was in a state of distress with the intensity of the second wave. Also, there was a situation of bed sharing. This has brought a new system of experts and officials working in the state of mind and the BBMP war room.

Beds are reserved using hotel booking software. Officials are working to bring in a new system within 2-3 months before a potential third wave.

Hotel room booking software will be the same, but different. Through channel managers, customers and travel agents globally call room availability check-in. Every hotel’s check-it is linked to it. A government official told The New Indian Express that the same is already planned for government and private hospitals to prevent bed blocking.

What types of beds, rates and services are listed in the hotels. Through this, citizens will be able to choose the best and nearest hospital to review, compare and treat availability. The official said this would bring about healthy competition and transparency.

This was necessitated by the fact that many private hospitals did not reserve 50 per cent beds for patients despite government orders. There are many cases in the state where patients are over-charged for treatment. The new system is in principle endorsed by the government. However, many hospitals are not convinced of this. Explaining the severity of the situation, a meeting is being held to bring them under one roof.

The new system would be helpful but cases of harassment are being reported by government officials. Thus FANA President Dr Narayanan said that the hospital’s management was not of much interest. Said Prasanna HM.
