Horatti urges govt. to carry session in Belagavi

Shut on the heels of the COVID-19 scenario easing within the State, Legislative Council chairman Basavaraj Horatti has steered to the federal government to carry the monsoon session of the State Legislature on the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi as per earlier custom.

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Thursday, Mr. Horatti identified that the State was but to carry a legislature session in Belagavi after 2018. Mentioning that the COVID-19 scenario had eased, he sought to remind the federal government about its dedication to carry one session of the 12 months within the border district of Belagavi as a part of efforts to take away regional imbalance.

He mentioned most legislators and all elected representatives and other people from the northern area had endorsed the view. Meeting Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri too had supported the suggestion, Mr. Horatti mentioned.

He urged the Chief Minister to debate the suggestion on the State Cupboard assembly and take a remaining name on the earliest.
