Bengaluru, Oct 1, 2026 – Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge and Congress leader Mohammed Haris Nalapad appeared before a single‑judge bench of the Karnataka High Court, which ordered them to file a revision petition in the Sessions Court regarding criminal defamation proceedings linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

The bench disposed of the petitions that the two politicians had lodged challenging the lower court’s cognizance order. By directing a revision, the High Court left the matter alive but shifted the procedural battleground to the Sessions Court.

The dispute traces back to a complaint lodged by RSS worker A. Tejas in October 2025. Tejas alleged that Kharge had uttered statements and circulated social media posts that disparaged the RSS and its members, while Nalapad was accused of making objectionable remarks about RSS members during a public interaction. The complaint also named Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao, but the lower court did not pursue action against him.
