Hegde clarified that while individuals have the right to make statements, they must also respect the law when discussing others. He advocated for thematic discussions and respectful expression of opinions, highlighting that personal abuse and derogatory remarks go against democratic values. Hegde urged MLA Yashpal Suvarna to reconsider his statements and advised voters to carefully evaluate the actions of public representatives. He called for party leaders to pay attention to such incidents and for voters to make informed decisions about their elected representatives.
