Heavy rains in Delhi, record of 20 years broken, IMD issued alert.
New Delhi: Record breaking torrential rains lashed Delhi on Saturday. It was the first torrential rain of this monsoon. The first heavy torrential rains in Delhi yesterday broke the record of 20 years. On the other hand, the process of heavy rain is continuing on Sunday morning, in view of which the Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert. Due to the rain, many roads and many areas of the capital are full of water. Along with this, many types of problems are being seen.

According to IMD i.e. Meteorological Department, 126.1 mm of rain was recorded in Delhi on Saturday. Which has not rained so much on any day in the last two decades i.e. 20 years. Earlier on July 10, 2023, there was 133.44 mm i.e. millimeters of rain. After this, Delhi received 123.4 mm of rainfall in July 2013 and 177 in the year 2022 on July 01. The highest rainfall so far in Delhi was 266.2 mm on July 21, 1958.
