Grilakshmi Yojana, one of the most important election slogans of the Congress, will be launched from today. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will start the process of accepting applications at the banquet hall of Vidhana Soudha today at 5 pm.

This is an important scheme to deposit 2000 rupees every month in the house owner bank account of BPL, APL and Antyodaya families. Although the Grilahakshmi Yojana was supposed to be launched in the month of June itself, the Grilahakshmi Yojana was postponed after many confusions arose in the registration of the Griha Jyoti Yojana.

Minister of Women and Child Welfare Lakshmi Hebbalkar said that without creating any confusion, the benefits of the scheme have been made available only to the eligible beneficiaries. He said that if the application is submitted in July, the money will be deposited in the account from August 17 or 18.

Eligibility to be the beneficiaries of the scheme

The government said in a circular that the scheme will be applicable to women who are mentioned as housewives in BPL, APL and Antyodaya ration cards. Household owner or owner’s husband is not eligible for this scheme if he is an income tax payer. Employer or husband filing GST returns cannot avail this scheme.

Documents required to apply

Ration card number, Aadhaar card number of the landlady and landlady’s husband. Bank account passbook linked to Jajamani Aadhaar or alternate bank account details preferred by the beneficiary.

How to Register

Registration is free on Seva Sindhu portal at Grama One, Karnataka One, Bangalore One and Bapuji Seva Kendras. The government has appointed representatives of the people and registration can also be done through them.

The government itself fixes the date, time and place for registration of each beneficiary. By calling 1902 or sending an SMS to this number 8147500500 you can get information about the date time and place of registration.

If you are not able to meet at the scheduled time, you can go and register after 5 pm. After registration of application, approval letter will be issued to eligible beneficiaries.

The government has requested that no fee can be charged for registration of the scheme and no money should be paid to anyone. There is also no last date to register for the scheme. In case of any confusion, you can call the toll-free helpline number 1902 and get information. Call only between 9 am to 6 pm.

As the registration process gets crowded, the government itself will schedule the registration to avoid server problems. Confirm your time and date before you go to register your application to avoid any confusion.
