Goodbye jobs?! .. What will artificial intelligence do to the educational system?
The “GPT chat” is still a topic of conversation in IT communities despite all the issues that have been raised about it since its beginnings.
In his new developments, Sam Altman, head of the American company “Open AI”, which developed the famous program, expected that artificial intelligence, including (Chat GPT), would revolutionize education as did calculators, noting that this technology, which is advancing very quickly, will not replace education.
Altman said in a lecture at Keio University in Tokyo, that it is likely that homework will not remain as we know it, stressing that the world today has a new tool for education, saying that it is more like a calculator in terms of words, and the methods of teaching and evaluating students must change.
The man is currently on a world tour, during which he will meet with corporate leaders and decision makers to discuss the opportunities offered by generative AI as well as the future regulation of this technology.
He expressed his confidence in the guarantees that keep pace with the development of this technology, but he reaffirmed the existence of concerns in this context.
Dazzle the world
It is noteworthy that the “GBT Chat” program was dazzling the world with its ability to create human-like conversations, writings, and translations within seconds.
However, it raises concerns in many sectors, including education, as some fear that students will misuse these tools and therefore stop producing original works.
As for Altman, he tried again to allay fears that many of the jobs currently occupied by humans could be lost due to artificial intelligence in the future.
While acknowledging that “some jobs will disappear,” the man pointed out that new categories of jobs will appear in return.
