Mangalore, May 25 (IANS) The Karnataka government has announced the deep-sea fishing ban from June 1 .The fishing season of this year come to an end as the state government has announced to ban on fishing from June 1.
As per the State Government’s notification, the Karnataka Marine Fisheries Regulation Act states that the Karnataka Marine Fisheries Regulation Act notifies the State Government not to use any fishing net and the equipment on the coast of Karnataka for the purpose of unloading any motorized boat or fishing boat for fishing.
The Department of Fisheries has issued a total 61-day ban from June 1 to July 31, if fishermen violate state law, they will be liable to penalties imposed by marine fisheries department and not eligible for subsidy on diesel for one year.
