MANGALURU : Inter-state bus service between Mangaluru and the border district Kasaorgod will be suspended for another week as a result of an increase in Covid-19 cases in Kerala’s Kasaragod district.
On Monday, a meeting of the Karnataka Development Programmes (KDP) at the Daskhina Kannada ZP office, was held led by Dakshina Kannada district minister and it was decided in the meeting that Bus services between Dakshina Kannada and Kerala would be halted Said Kota Shrinivas Poojary.
“Keeping track of all passengers travelling on this route is challenging. Allowing interstate buses will also have an impact on our Covid-control measures. “After studying the daily positivity rate of Kasaragod district for the next one week, we would be able to make an appropriate decision,” the minister said.
After the Karnataka government declared lockdown again on April 27, bus services on interstate routes were banned. On the Mangaluru – Kasaragod route, only KSRTC buses from both states were running. From July 5, after Karnataka announced Unlock, buses began running across the state. KSRTC buses on the Mangaluru–Kasaragod route,
