On July 12, the Ullal Taluk unit of Karnataka Janapada Parishat will host the district-level Pada Panka-2026 folk group singing competition at the Sri Sharada Mandira auditorium in Kolya, starting at 10 AM. Praveen S. Kumpala, the designated president of the Ullal Taluk unit, made this announcement during a press conference at the Ullal Press Club in Thokottu. The event coincides with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed Janapada Parishat Ullal Taluk unit office bearers, aiming to make the occasion more significant. The competition is open to women above eighteen years of age, with each group comprising four women and one Tamki player, who can be of any age or gender. The winners will receive cash prizes, attractive plaques, and certificates, while all participants will get mementos and certificates. Designated General Secretary Vijeth Shetty Manjanady, Cultural Secretary Vijayalakshmi Kateel, Organizing Secretary Kiran Kolya, and Organizer Jayaprakash Jogi attended the press conference. The event promises to be a celebration of folk music and culture in the region.
