High Court upholds government decision to conduct SSLC examination

Bangalore : The Karnataka High Court on Monday upheld the state government’s decision to conduct SSLC exams for the academic year 2020-21. Exams will be held on July 19 and 22.

Justice SV Singhre Gowda filed a petition seeking cancellation of the test in view of coronavirus cases. The jury bench comprising Nagaratna and Shakate Sanjeev Kumar has dismissed the petition .

The Advocate General, who is appearing on behalf of the state, has submitted documents to the court stating that the inspections will take place in two days and all precautions will be taken. “We only have 12 students in one class Room. One desk per student. There will be 2 paramedical staff for health check-up, ”he said.

The court dismissed the application, favouring the state government’s argument. “The court is not inclined to interfere in this matter. We have found that the State is concerned about conducting the exams by issuing a coded SOP in a circular form to be cherished by all students, teachers and all stakeholders. “We have not found any significant points in the application. Therefore, the application has been dismissed,” the court said.

The petitioners argued that online classes were not properly conducted in some institutions and that many children find it difficult to understand online classes.
