Emphasis in budget on education and job creation of minority community: Waqf Minister Jamir Ahmed
Bengaluru, July 08: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has presented his record 14th budget with a budget of Rs 3 lakh 27 thousand crore. Siddaramaiah, who presented the budget, has made a bumper contribution to the minority community.
In this regard, Housing and Minority Welfare, Waqf Minister Jamir Ahmed said that besides the emphasis in the budget on education and job creation of the minority community, Rs 2,101 crore has been allocated. It is said that it has been provided.
60 crores for resumption of scholarship of minority community which was stopped during BJP period. 54 crores to complete the half-standing Shadi Mahal and Community Bhavan. He said that he would be grateful to the Chief Minister for the grant.
Yet with the basic mantra of development and social justice, the budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is complementary to development. What has been given to the minority community in the budget?
62 Minority Morarji Desai Residential Schools in the State will be upgraded to Integrated Schools from Class 6 to Class 12. This will benefit 13,000 students and Rs 30 crore will be provided for this project in the current year.
Besides, Rs 23 crore will be provided to accommodate an additional 12,500 students by doubling the student enrollment of 50 Morarji Desai Residential Schools. 10 new Minority Morarji Desai Residential Schools will be started in the current year.
There are 200 Maulana Azad schools in the state, 75% of students have passed in these schools and 100% in 22 schools. Recognizing the good performance of Maulana Azad schools, to further enhance the quality of education and provide necessary infrastructure to schools that do not have their own building.
Under Arivu Educational Loan Scheme for minority students, loans of up to Rs.1 lakh per annum will be sanctioned at an interest rate of 2% for pursuing 28 professional courses such as engineering, medicine etc., admitted through CET. 75 crores will be allocated in the current year.
Language laboratories will be set up in all minority Morarji Desai residential schools in the state at a cost of Rs.5 crore with the aim of improving the knowledge of Kannada and English language among minority community students. Skill training for minority youth in Ramanagara, Belagavi, Davangere, Kalaburagi and Dakshina Kannada districts will be provided at a cost of Rs.4 crore. To be started at cost.
A grant of Rs.8 crore will be given to the students studying in pre-degree residential colleges of minorities for two years training from reputed institutes for preparation of NEET, JEE, CET and other entrance exams from the first year itself.
