On August 1, Dubai-based AI-powered humanoid robot Bu Sunaidah participated in a unique wedding-themed celebration with fellow robot Moza, blending advanced technology with Emirati traditions. The event began with a digital wedding invitation featuring a Quranic verse and the names Bu Sunaidah and Moza against a floral backdrop. A video released after the celebration shows Bu Sunaidah, dressed in a traditional Emirati kandura, ghutra, and black bisht, taking part in wedding customs such as a ceremonial entrance, traditional stick dancing, and the exchange of flowers. Moza appeared in a beige abaya and headscarf, and the celebration concluded with a fireworks display as an Emirati wedding song played in the background.
Bu Sunaidah, built on the Unitree G1 humanoid robot platform, has gained a large online following through videos inspired by Emirati customs and everyday life. Developed by the Dubai-based SS Lootah Group, the robot’s latest production has prompted discussion about the use of humanoid robots in cultural settings. Earlier this year, Bu Sunaidah attracted attention for appearing in videos linked to Eid celebrations and the Islamic call to prayer, generating debate over the role of artificial intelligence in religious and traditional spaces.
The wedding-themed posts have amassed thousands of reactions, with many users congratulating the robotic pair and others viewing the production as an example of how technology is being used to showcase local culture. Bu Sunaidah thanked family, friends, and followers for their blessings, describing Moza as the most beautiful robot, and presented the event as a light-hearted social media celebration. The ceremony was not a legal marriage but a creative production designed for online audiences.
