On June 28, Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alva’s Education Foundation, emphasized the importance of trust in the doctor-patient relationship while speaking at the felicitation ceremony for doctors in Moodbidri. The event was part of the installation ceremony for the new office bearers of the Moodbidri unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and National Doctors’ Day celebrations at Alva’s Medical Science and Research Centre. Dr. Alva stressed that patient safety, ethics, and a service-oriented mindset are essential values in the medical profession. Dr. T.A. Veerabhadraiah, President of the IMA Karnataka State Chapter, outlined the association’s objectives, including responding to doctors’ problems and protecting their interests. Dr. Yogananda Reddy, President of the Karnataka Medical Council, highlighted Alva’s Educational Institution’s approach to education, which prioritizes culture. The event saw the felicitation of several doctors, including Dr. Prabhachandra Jain, Dr. K.R. Joishi, and Dr. Jayagopal Tholpady. The new office bearers of the Moodbidri IMA unit were also installed, with Dr. Annayya Kulal delivering the introductory speech. Dignitaries such as Dr. Harish Delanthabettu, Dr. Mohan Appaji, and Dr. Avin Alva were present. Dr. Mahabalesh Shetty, Dean of Alva’s Medical Science and Research Centre, also attended the ceremony.
