Bangalore, June 21; The state government has taken action to distribute eggs, peanut chicks, and bananas to school children once a week to eliminate malnutrition among school children. Supplementary nutritious food is provided to the children of classes 1 to 8 in government and aided schools of all districts. A circular has been published in this regard.
Shubha Kalyan Director P. M. Poshan, Shala Education Department Bangalore has issued a circular in this regard. For the year 2023-24, it has been suggested to distribute boiled eggs (banana fruit or peanut chicks for children who do not receive eggs) as supplementary nutritious food to the 1st-8th class children of government and aided schools in all the districts of the state for the elimination of malnutrition among school children.
In the year 2023-24, one egg per student per week will be distributed to children of classes 1-8 of government and aided primary and high schools of all districts in the state to prevent malnutrition and anemia.
In the first phase, starting from 20/06/2023 till 15/07/2023 till further orders of the Government, it is hereby instructed to distribute according to the attendance of the beneficiary children. In this regard, the unit cost of one egg/banana/peanut per student per day is Rs. 6 is fixed. As such instruction is given to pay the cost.
What Grant Use? 8 districts of state welfare Karnataka division namely Yadagiri, Kalaburagi, Bellary, Vijayanagar, Koppala, Raichur, Bidar, Vijayapur in these districts of 2023-24th year P. A. B. As per approval and grant allocation, it is suggested to implement the said program for the beneficiary children of class 1-8 of government and aided schools under plexi grant from Central and State share.
S. D. M. The Headmaster of the school has been instructed to distribute supplementary nutritious food under the leadership of C. In this regard, the expenditure has been borne under K2 PFMS and the expenses have been managed.
For the rest of the 23 districts of the state, the beneficiary children of government and aided schools of class 1-8, as mentioned above, as per the guidelines given by the head teacher of the school in the previous line, S. D. M. It is hereby directed to take necessary action and distribute supplementary nutritious food under the leadership of C. It is said that the related expenses should be borne under the account heading 2202-00-101-0-18.
P. in 13 districts in the state. M. All Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) distributing prepared mid-day meals to government and aided schools participating in MoU with Zilla Panchayat under Poshan have also been informed to take steps to distribute supplementary nutritious food as per the above mentioned guideline.
