New Delhi, July 22 (SO News/Agency) The problems of the people of Delhi are not diminishing. The level of the Yamuna river in the capital has once again risen above the danger mark. Flood victims are scared. After the flood waters receded, the people who returned to their homes from the relief camps have once again started visiting the relief camps. Along with this, the government has asked the people living in the relief camps to stay here for the time being.

Flood-affected people take shelter in a relief camp near Signature Bridge in Delhi. “We live in a camp near Signature Bridge,” said Laxman Das, who lives in a relief camp near Signature Bridge. We request the Delhi government to give us a place to stay. Whenever there is a flood in the area, we have to leave our place.”

The Yamuna water level crossed 205.38 meters for the third time around 6 pm on Friday. The water level at the old railway bridge remained above 205.48 meters till 10 pm on Friday. The risk of water logging in low-lying areas near Yamuna has increased due to rise in water level. The Delhi government had decided to withdraw the ban on vehicular entry into the national capital after the water level in the Yamuna fell below the danger mark of 205.33 meters.

Earlier on July 10, the water level of Yamuna river crossed the danger mark of 205.33 meters. During the 1978 floods in Delhi, the Yamuna river fell below a record level of 207.49 meters on 13 July. At that time the maximum water level at the old railway bridge had reached 208.66 meters. Six days later, at 5 am on July 19, the Yamuna’s water level again dropped below the danger mark at 205.22 meters. But from 6 o’clock its water level started rising again.
