On Saturday, at Udupi Town Hall, State Chief Commissioner of India Scouts and Guides, P.G.R. Scindia, highlighted the cooperative sector’s significant contributions to Karnataka’s development and growth. He was speaking at a program organized by Badagabettu Credit Cooperative Society, where free notebooks, educational tools, and saplings were distributed to Kannada medium school students in Udupi district. Udupi MLA Yashpal A. Suvarna and Principal Ashok Kamath of Udupi District Education and Training Institute were also present. The event included a talent award ceremony, with 5 lakhs awarded to 24 meritorious students who scored the highest marks in the 2025-26 ESL examination. Additionally, notebooks and uniforms were distributed to 45 Kannada medium schools and 8 schools, respectively. Six students received financial aid and educational materials, while a computer system was donated to Udupi Christian Pre-Graduation College. The society’s directors, including Purushottama Shetty and Manohar Shetty, were present, along with General Manager Rajesh V. Sherigar and Assistant Manager Praveen Kumar. President Jayakara Shetty Indrali welcomed the guests, and Malpe Branch Manager Naveen K. and Kundapur branch manager Samarth Shetty narrated the program.
