On October 13, 2026, supporters of senior Telangana Congress MLA Konda Surekha unfurled a party flag bearing her name during a Congress rally in Delhi, openly confronting Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy, a close aide of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

The display came as the party staged a protest against the BJP‑led centre, and a tweet from Telugu Scribe captured the moment, showing the Konda faction waving the banner while Vem Narender Reddy watched from the sidelines. The image, posted on the same day, quickly circulated on social media, prompting speculation about an internal power struggle.

Surekha, who was removed from the Telangana cabinet last month, has alleged a “blackmail” conspiracy aimed at ousting her. She named the CM’s brothers, Kondal Reddy and Tirupathi Reddy, alongside Vem Narender Reddy and minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy as co‑conspirators. The dispute originated when her daughter Sushmita publicly criticised Revanth Reddy for supporting incumbent MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy’s re‑election bid in Parkal. Sushmita, an aspirant for the same seat, warned she would contest as an independent if denied a party ticket.

Despite being a long‑time Congress member and former cabinet minister in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, Surekha remains a prominent voice in the party. Revanth Reddy and Vem Narender Reddy, both former TDP members who joined Congress in 2018, have risen rapidly, with Revanth becoming working president and later party president ahead of the 2023 Telangana polls. A senior Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leader acknowledged the feud, noting that the Delhi photographs might be AI‑generated but stressed that internal disagreements must not undermine party discipline. As of now, the Congress leadership has offered no official comment.
