On August 11, District Congress president Harish Kumar urged the party’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to thoroughly verify the names dropped from the voter list during the Summary Revision (SIR) process in Mangalore. Kumar addressed a meeting of Congress Party BLAs and Constituency Coordinators of Mangalore South Assembly Constituency, emphasizing the need to check discrepancies in voter details. MLA and KPCC vice-president Ivan D’Souza pointed out that various reasons, including changes in house addresses, duplicate recordings, or deceased individuals still on the list, could have led to omissions. D’Souza suggested that BLAs should carefully examine each case and make necessary corrections to prevent genuine voters from being deprived of their right to vote. Other attendees included Mangalore South Block Congress President Abdul Salim, Mangalore City Block Congress President Prakash B. Salian, and coach Amita Ashwin. The meeting aimed to ensure that all eligible voters’ names are included in the list, with BLAs taking responsibility for verifying and correcting the voter lists.
