In a significant development from Moodushedde village, Mangaluru taluk, a formal complaint has been lodged regarding an alleged attempt to illegally remove 68 eligible voters from the electoral roll. The incident, which surfaced on October 5, prompted Lawrence D'Souza, President of the D.K. District Congress Labour Unit, to file a complaint at Kavoor police station, demanding stringent legal action against five individuals he accuses of conspiracy.

D'Souza's complaint identifies four residents of Moodushedde village, reportedly BJP workers, as central to the alleged scheme. Kishan is accused of filing applications through Form 7 to delete the names of 45 individuals from Booth No. 216. Ritesh allegedly targeted 9 voters in Booth No. 223, while Yuvaraj focused on 10 people in Booth No. 221. Shashikala B. is named for applications related to 4 voters, also in Booth No. 223.

Crucially, all 68 individuals are confirmed eligible voters. Their details have been mapped, verified by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and their names prominently appear in the draft voters' list. Despite this clear eligibility, the accused allegedly submitted applications using trivial, baseless, and false information, aiming to deliberately mislead election authorities. Lawrence D'Souza has explicitly alleged that this misuse of Form 7 represents a calculated attempt to benefit the BJP party by disenfranchising legitimate voters.

Further investigation is sought into the role of a person named Yashwanth, who reportedly received acknowledgments for these deletion applications from the Mangaluru Tahsildar's office. With details about Yashwanth's full involvement currently unclear, D'Souza is pressing for a thorough inquiry into his actions and potential complicity in this matter, underscoring the gravity of tampering with democratic processes.
