Prof. Krishna Murthy, a retired principal of Surathkal Govinda Dasa College, addressed a gathering in Mangaluru where financial assistance was handed over to economically vulnerable women and patients, emphasizing the role of mutual help in community life.
The ceremony featured the disbursement of funds contributed by social worker K. L. Bangera of Mogaveera Samaj Mumbai. Bangera made the donation in memory of his parents, Baikampady Lakshman Bangera and Sundari Puthran, channeling the money through Panambur Mogaveera Mahasabha Chitrapura Kulai to reach those in need.
While speaking, Prof. Murthy praised the initiative as a noble effort that reflects a responsive attitude toward societal welfare. He highlighted that providing financial support to helpless women and the ill not only improves individual lives but also strengthens the fabric of the community.
Presiding over the event, P. Madhava Suvarna, President of Panambur Mogaveera Mahasabha, reiterated that cooperation forms the foundation of the Mogaveera community. He described Bangera's contribution as a direct response to the hardships faced by community members and called it an exemplary model of human values in practice.
Key attendees included Panambur village head Amar Nath Suvarna, Vice President Jagannath Puthran, former Secretary Nagesh Puthran, Treasurer Rohidas Salian, and community members Kumar Bangera, Ramesh Puthran, Prakash Salian, Bharath Kumar, Nuthan Kanchan, Aneesh Salian and Naresh Kundar.
The gathering underscored that collective responsibility and timely assistance remain essential for the well‑being of the coastal Karnataka populace.
