China’s Foreign Minister Chin Gang is ‘missing’ for a month, removed from the post
Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping has removed Foreign Minister Chin Gang, who has been missing for a month. He has appointed Wang Yi as the new foreign minister in place of Gang. News agency AFP gave information on Tuesday quoting the state media. Chin Gang was made the Foreign Minister of China 8 months ago i.e. in December 2022. Gang had replaced Wang Yi, who had been foreign minister for 10 years. He has been missing since June 25. No one knows where he is.
China’s top legislature convened a session on Tuesday to review draft criminal law amendments and decisions on official appointments and removals. In this, it was announced to remove Chin Gang and appoint Wang Yi. The AP report did not give a reason for Chin Gang’s removal, but said President Xi Jinping signed an order to implement the decision.
Gangs were seen as Jinping’s trusted
Chin Gang was seen as a confidant of President Xi Jinping. Many analysts attributed his recent rapid rise in the diplomatic ranks to their relationship.

Chin Gang was last seen on 25 June in a meeting with Russian, Sri Lankan and Vietnamese officials. Since then he did not appear in public events. No one knows where Chin Gang has been for a month. Even the Foreign Ministry of China is not aware of this.
Foreign Ministry said – we have no information
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Chin Gang was to have a meeting with the European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief Joseph Borrell on 4 July. But this meeting was suddenly pushed forward. Borrell was informed about this two days ago. In this, no reason was given for furthering the meeting. After this, for the first time on July 7, the media asked for information about Chinese Foreign Minister Gang. In response to this, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that they have no information.
Let us inform that Wang Yi, who was made the new Foreign Minister of China, was till now the director of the Foreign Affairs Commission Office of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee. He has also served as the Foreign Minister of China till January 2023. The Chinese Foreign Ministry refused to give any information.
