Chief Minister Siddaramaiah started the direct transfer of Annabhagya scheme money into accounts
Bengaluru, July 11 Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar launched Direct Transfer (DCT) to the bank accounts of Anna Bhagya scheme beneficiaries. The logo of this project was also released on this occasion. The event was held at the conference hall of Vidhan Sodha.
According to the promise of the Congress, 10 kg of rice was to be given to each member of the BPL. Out of this, every person will now be given 5 kg of rice per month and 170 rupees for 5 kg of rice will be transferred to the bank accounts every month. The scheme was initiated by transferring money into the bank accounts of a few beneficiaries in Mysuru and Kolar districts. Now after the launch of this scheme, the money will be transferred in phases to the accounts of all the beneficiaries in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Siddaramaiah said that the Union UPA government led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had implemented the Food Security Act in the country. We have now decided to implement 5 guarantee schemes in the first volume. Among our five guarantees, Anna Bhagya scheme is very important. 1 crore 28 lakh families have benefited from the Anna Bhagya scheme in the state. While we are providing free rice to 4.42 crore people, 4.42 crore people including BPL card holders will be benefited under Nitodia.
He said that we had said that we will provide a total of ten kilos of rice to each person of the poor. He said that Anna Bhagya is not a new program, when we came to power in 2013, this program was started. What is promised to people should be fulfilled. He said that on the first day after our government was sworn in, we implemented 5 guarantees. One should not lie to people after making a promise.
