On Wednesday, BIT Polytechnic in Innoli, Mangaluru, hosted an orientation program for its newly admitted first-year diploma students. Dr. Abdul Khader A.A., former Principal of KPT Evening Polytechnic College, was the chief guest at the 2026 program. Dr. Khader emphasized that technical education should focus on discipline, technical competence, continuous learning, and personality development, in addition to acquiring a degree.
Dr. S.I. Manjur Basha, Director of Bearys Knowledge Campus, presided over the program, highlighting the institution’s academic environment, opportunities for higher education, and quality technical education. He also stressed the importance of skill development, training, and placements. Dr. C. Kamalakannan, Principal of BIT Polytechnic, encouraged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and participate in research and innovation.
Dr. Azeez Mustafa, Principal of BIES, advised students to continuously refine their skills and adapt to changing needs in line with emerging technologies. Malashree from the Civil Engineering department informed students and parents about the institution’s rules and academic commitment. The program began with a prayer and was inaugurated by watering a plant, symbolizing the growth and nurturing of young minds. Prithviraj M., Director of BIT Polytechnic, welcomed the gathering, which included dignitaries such as Abdul Latheef, Principal of BIPUC.
