Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) on Monday announced that it will withdraw its support to the Nitish Kumar-led Mahaghatabandhan government.

HAM national president Manjhi’s son Santosh Suman said that he has sought an appointment from Governor Rajendra Arlekar to give the letter of withdrawal of support given by the Bihar government.

Suman had resigned from the ministerial post last week, alleging that Nitish Kumar’s JDU was pressuring him to merge his party.

Addressing a press conference after today’s HAM National Executive Council meeting to decide on the party’s next course of action, Suman is visiting Delhi to discuss further options and is ready to “consider” an invitation from the BJP-led NDA.
