On July 18 and 19, Bhatkal will host a free two-day comprehensive cardiac health check-up camp, titled 'One Heart – One Life', organised by the Indian Nawayath Forum (INF) at M.M. Siddique Hall. With 1,050 registrations completed, the camp aims to promote preventive cardiac care through early detection and timely intervention. INF General Secretary Adil Nagarmat attributed the overwhelming response to growing concern over heart disease and sudden cardiac deaths, particularly among young adults. The initiative encourages timely screening and early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, with specialist cardiac consultations on July 19 conducted by leading cardiologists from Karnataka and Kerala. Dr Ali Faizal, Dr Yusuf Kumble, and Dr Salman Salahuddin will lead the consultations, supported by a medical team of around 30 to 35 healthcare professionals. Initial medical evaluation and screening on July 18 will be carried out by senior physicians, including Dr Adithya Bharadwaj, Dr Latha, and Dr Sirajuddin. Camp Convener and INF Secretary Syed Ghufran Lanka noted that registration exceeded initial expectations, with 141 participants having pre-existing heart disease. Nearly 90 per cent of the mandatory pre-camp blood test screenings have been completed, with participants urged to finish the tests before July 16.
