Bengaluru, July 21: Many measures have been taken to curb the speed limit on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway. New technology was also adopted in this regard. The police, who are trying to put brakes on the accidents, have collected huge fines from those who violated the speed rule.

Speed ​​limit on Bangalore-Mysore Expressway reduced to 100 kmplh. Along with this, a fine of ₹16 lakh rupees has been collected in just 15 days for violating some traffic rules.

More than 16 lakh rupees have been collected as fines for driving beyond the speed limit, lane discipline, not wearing a seat belt, driving without wearing a helmet etc. Ramanagara District Police collected this fine. By this, Bangalore-Mysore Express traffic has become more expensive.

The speed limit is 100KM on the six-lane expressway. More than 20 people have died in accidents in the last four to five months. After the inauguration of the highway, more than 160 accidents have occurred till now. More than 55 lives have been lost.

There were allegations of low road grip and safety on this highway. Road Safety ADGP Alok Kumar conducted an inspection and identified 55 accident zones and submitted a report to the government. Later speed limiters and seed breakers were installed.

Highways Authority (NHIA) officials also inspected the road. He later agreed to lower the speed limit. The operation was started from the last 15 days to fine speed limit, lane discipline, seat belt, helmet.

More than 2000 cases of violation have come to light

A total of more than 2000 cases of violation of traffic rules have come to light in the last two weeks. In this, 877 cases of driving beyond the speed limit, 580 cases of not having lane discipline, 189 cases of driving without wearing seat belts, and 274 cases of driving without a helmet have been registered. A total of more than 16 lakhs has been collected from this.

Now toll fee is being charged on both sides of this expressway. Also rules are imposed. Despite this, there is no proper infrastructure for this highway. There is no provision of toilet facilities for the passengers as well as mobile ambulance. The National Highway Authority has not made any compromise on the toll rate and the public and motorists have expressed their displeasure.

If there is no car or any other vehicle breaks down then there are no facilities. In the public sector, there is no adequate protection if the vehicle breaks down at night, if the vehicle is parked on the side of the road due to sleepiness.
