Bantwal Tahsildar led team Raided on illegal sand Extraction Facility

Bantwal, Jun 26 :The Revenue Department, in collaboration with the Forest Department and the municipal police station, conducted an operation at an illegal sand extraction facility near Bantwal at around 12.30 p.m. on Friday. During the raid two boats and a tipper were detained on suspicion of being used to illegally extract sand from the river, according to Bantwal Tahsildar Rashmi S. During the raid, two persons managed to flee. Many reports of unlawful sand mining have been heard throughout the taluk, prompting this raid.
