On July 17, the revamped Bantwal Railway Station, developed at a cost of ₹26.18 crore, will be inaugurated. Girish Dharmaraj Kalagodu, Public Relations Officer and Divisional Commercial Manager of the Mysuru division of Indian Railways, announced this while briefing the media about the station’s redevelopment. The primary objective of the redevelopment is to enhance passenger amenities, modernize the station’s infrastructure, and increase overall efficiency. The project focuses on renovating passenger facilities, improving circulation, and beautification, in line with Indian Railways’ standards. As part of this project, waiting halls and ticket booking counters have been upgraded, providing more space, better seating, and additional conveniences for passengers. The station’s design has been improved, with a developed circulatory area and separately designed drop-off and pick-up areas. Full-length platform shelters have been provided to protect passengers from all weather conditions. The station building’s front platform surface has been improved, ensuring safety, durability, and easy movement. The interior of the station has been renovated, with modern furniture, lighting, and landscaping, creating a more comfortable and attractive atmosphere. The architectural style of the station has been enhanced with the construction of entrance and exit arches, giving it a distinct and welcoming appearance. Significant improvements have been made to the electrical system, including high-level lighting, LED platform nameboards, LED signboards, and façade lighting, increasing visibility while saving energy. Coach indication boards, train indication boards, public address systems, and clocks have been provided for passenger information. Overall, the Bantwal Railway Station redevelopment project focuses on passenger comfort, improved circulation, and infrastructure modernization, transforming the station into a modern, efficient, and passenger-friendly hub.
