Senior party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has said that he belongs to the faction. Patil said that he decided to join the Ajit Pawar faction with the hope of saving the two sugar mills in his constituency which are in economic crisis and solving the problems related to development and tourism in the Vai sector. Notably, Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs were with Patil during NCP founder Sharad Pawar’s visit to Karad Nagar, a day after he joined the Shiv Sena-BJP government.
Patil claimed that his name was in the list of nine NCP ministers, including Ajit Pawar, who took oath last Sunday. But Patil told PTI that he told Ajit Pawar that he should consult his supporters and the people of the constituency before taking any decision.
