Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar met NCP President Sharad Pawar in Mumbai on Sunday along with some other ministers from his NCP camp. A close aide of the Deputy Chief Minister gave this information. This was the first meeting between the Ajit Pawar-led group and Sharad Pawar after rebelling against his uncle and joining the Eknath Shinde government on July 2.
Ajit Pawar along with NCP ministers Hasan Mushrif, Chhagan Bhujbal, Aditi Tatkare and Dilip Walse Patil met Sharad Pawar at the YB Chavan Center located near the state secretariat ‘Mantralaya’. Sources in the Sharad Pawar camp said that NCP state president Jayant Patil and party leader Jitendra Awhad also reached the YB Chavan centre. Ajit Pawar on Friday went to ‘Silver Oak’, the official residence of the NCP president, to meet his wife Pratibha Pawar.
Pratibha Pawar has undergone hand surgery at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is considered close to his aunt Pratibha. In 2019, Ajit and Devendra Fadnavis formed a short-lived government after the assembly elections. After this, Pratibha is said to have played an important role in bringing Ajit back to the NCP.
