Telugu actor-politician Pawan Kalyan tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. His political outfit Janasena Party released a statement, confirming the news.

The statement said that Pawan Kalyan felt uneasy when he returned from his campaign in Tirupati earlier this month. Following the uneasiness, he took the Covid-19 test. But, results came back negative.

The actor-politician later took part in a grand film event held in Hyderabad on April 4. The event was held in the presence of a huge crowd to promote his latest movie Vakeel Saab. And last week, Pawan went into self-quarantine after several staff members at his party office contracted the virus.

“During the quarantine at his farmhouse, Pawan continued to experience body aches and fever. So he took another test, and only then he tested positive for Covid-19. Cardiologist Dr Tangella Suman was flown down to Hyderabad from Khammam to treat Pawan Kalyan,” read the statement.

The party noted that Pawan Kalyan’s family members, including Chiranjeevi, Surekha, Ram Charan, and Upasana, are constantly being updated about his health.

The statement also mentioned that Pawan’s condition is stable, and he will return to his work soon.

It is worth noting that producer Dil Raju, who bankrolled Pawan Kalyan’s latest film Vakeel Saab, had also tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.
