The Telangana EAGLE task force detained 51‑year‑old Neethu Bai in Nanakramguda on Friday, November 6, after seizing Rs 1.59 lakh in cash.
Investigators say the woman faces roughly 30 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) cases filed between 2017 and 2026, most of them for trafficking cannabis.
Police records indicate she avoided capture in 13 of those cases by constantly moving between the upscale localities of Nanakramguda, Gachibowli and Langerhouz.
According to authorities, Neethu Bai bought large quantities of ganja and broke them into small packets for sale in Nanakramguda, an area populated largely by corporate employees and students.
Investigators are also probing several properties that appear to have been bought with proceeds of the drug trade, including two G+3 buildings in Langer Houz, a G+2 building in Gachibowli and recent construction at her Nanakramguda residence.
Bank accounts belonging to her, her family members and a nearby kirana store have been frozen pending further inquiry.
Following the arrest, the court ordered her remand to judicial custody while the probe continues.
