Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, announced on Friday that his party will stage a peaceful Tricolour march at Central Park in Connaught Place at 5 p.m. on October 16, despite warnings that Delhi police could detain him for taking part.

Speaking at a press briefing in Jhandewalan alongside the party’s National Legal Affairs Lead Ratna Singh, Dipke stressed that the demonstration – titled “Lehra Do Tiranga” – would be non‑violent and that participants would simply carry the national flag to the venue.

The leader accused authorities of curbing citizens’ right to display the flag, alleging that after the party called for a protest on October 10, the administration disrupted public transport, erected barricades, and even shut down internet services. He claimed that officials have decided to close Central Park after learning of the planned flag‑waving event.

Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Dipke said the march seeks accountability through peaceful means. He addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, questioning why ordinary citizens should face restrictions for hoisting the Tricolour while similar celebrations across the country face no such limits.

Two party activists, identified as Ashutosh and Saurabh, were reportedly placed in judicial custody for carrying the flag, a fact Dipke highlighted while demanding their release. He also referenced a video that allegedly shows a police officer stopping Vijay Mallangi, the party’s national media lead, from recording the flag outside Central Park.

When asked about reports that police would allow only eleven people to unfurl the flag, Dipke rejected the notion, asserting that the Tricolour belongs to all 1.4 billion Indians and should be free for peaceful expression.

Beyond the march, Dipke alleged that plain‑clothes officers and an intelligence team have been monitoring him, noting a white Scorpio that frequently follows his residence.
