Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta officially inaugurated a new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) unit in Vittal on Friday, marking a significant stride in modernizing waste management within the Vittal Town Panchayat limits. This facility, equipped with a 3 Tonnes Per Day (TPD) capacity specifically for dry waste collection, promises to introduce a highly scientific system for waste processing and disposal in the region.

The construction of this crucial MRF unit received approximately 60.10 lakh rupees in grants, channeled through the Central Government's ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and various other centrally sponsored schemes. Addressing the gathering, Capt. Chowta underscored the unit's importance in curbing environmental pollution by ensuring scientific waste disposal.
