Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar officially extended his congratulations to star athlete M.R. Poovamma, representing India, secured a gold medal in the Women's 4x400m Relay and added a silver in the 4x400m Mixed Relay event. The Chief Minister also extended his felicitations to other Karnataka athletes who clinched medals at the Asian Games: Shreyanka Patil for a gold in Women's Cricket, Tilottama Sen for a silver in Shooting, Sneha S.S. for a bronze in the 4x100m Mixed Relay, and Ayush Shetty for a bronze in the Men's Team category. He conveyed heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for their future sporting journeys, acknowledging their role in raising India's tricolour and enhancing the state's pride on the international stage.
Concurrently, Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Dakshina Kannada District In-charge, Khader, also commended M.R. Poovamma for her gold medal in the 400m relay at the Asian Games. Minister Khader highlighted Poovamma's local roots, noting her origin from Kodagu and her education at SDM College in Mangaluru. He emphasized that her extraordinary achievements, which have elevated India and Karnataka's reputation globally, serve as a source of immense pride for everyone.
