Udupi's Kuthpady area in Udyavara will soon be the focal point for global Ayurveda discourse as the Sree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College, Hospital, and Research Centre prepares to host an international medical conference. Titled 'Kshamatvam,' the event will delve into advanced research in Ayurveda and pathologies impacting the body's defense mechanisms. Scheduled from September 29 to October 1, the conference will unfold at the Bhavaprakasha Auditorium within the SDM Ayurveda College campus.
Dr. Mamatha K.V., Principal of SDM Ayurveda College, announced these details at a press conference in Udupi. The formal inauguration is slated for September 30 at 10 AM, presided over by Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala. State Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader will officially open the proceedings. Esteemed guests joining the inaugural ceremony include Dr. Kaustubha Upadhyay, Ayurveda Advisor to the Central Government's AYUSH Ministry; Prof. (Dr.) Anisha Upendra Kothkar, President of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine; and Dr. Sunil Panwar, Commissioner of the State AYUSH Department.
The conference will conclude with a valedictory ceremony on October 1 at 4 PM, chaired by D. Harshendra Heggade, Secretary of the Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society, Ujire. Dr. Vandana Sirohi, Director of the National Ayurveda Vidyapeeth under the AYUSH Ministry in New Delhi, will attend as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests for the closing event include Prof. Pradeepkumar Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi; Dr. Siddanagowda A. Patil from Bengaluru's Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Prasanna Narasimha Rao from SDM Ujire.
A pre-conference workshop is scheduled for September 29, preceding the main event. This workshop will provide a platform for students, researchers, academicians, and Ayurveda practitioners from across the nation. Organizers anticipate over 1500 delegates, comprising 600 from Karnataka, 800 from other Indian states, and international experts. Prof. Dr. Srinivas Hejmadi Acharya, a professor at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Prasanna N. Mogasale serves as the conference's organizing secretary. Dr. Nagaraj S., Vice Principal of SDM College, along with Dr. Chaitra Hebbar, Dr. Aparna Jain, and Dr. A. Kumar from the publicity committee, were also present at the press briefing.
