Bantwal's Thumbe Pre-University College, managed by the Muhiyuddin Educational Trust (R), celebrated student abilities and cultural heritage this past Wednesday with its annual inter-class talent competition and tradition day. The event unfolded at the college's Shabana Auditorium, recognizing diverse student skills.
College Principal Dinesh Shetty Alike inaugurated the program, emphasizing the institution's role in nurturing latent potential. "Every student possesses some special talent, whether in academics, sports, music, dance, painting, literature, or public speaking," Alike stated. He highlighted that such celebrations aim to identify and encourage these varied abilities, asserting that educational bodies bear the responsibility of providing suitable platforms for their display.
Padmanabha Upadhyaya, an Art Teacher from Thumbe High School, also addressed the gathering. He lauded these competitions as crucial avenues for students to discover their inner talents. Upadhyaya stressed the importance of participation and the confidence to showcase one's skills, valuing these aspects above merely winning or losing.
The dais featured a distinguished group of educators and student leaders. Among those present were Amrutha, Assistant Teacher at Thumbe High School; Smt. Kavitha, Commerce Lecturer at Thumbe Pre-University College; Sairam J. Nayak, Director of Physical Education; and Chandrashekhara Shetty, English Language Lecturer. Student Council President Mohammed Nihad, Secretary Fatimatul Aleemat Sanama, and Opposition Leader Mohammed Ameer also joined the dignitaries.
D.B. Abdul Rahman, Kannada Lecturer, extended a warm welcome to attendees, while Sharath Alva, History Lecturer, adeptly compered the proceedings before delivering the vote of thanks.
The inter-class talent competition saw four teams vie for top honors. The 'Vibe Hunters' from the Second Science division secured first place, demonstrating exceptional talent. The 'Talent Zore' team, representing the Second Commerce division, earned a commendable second place.
