On August 14, Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 hit theaters, competing with Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947. Preliminary estimates show Awarapan 2 had strong advance bookings, with around Rs 8.57 crore from the three main cinema chains on its opening day. Including blocked tickets, the movie's advance-booking income surpassed Rs 10 crore, with expected earnings of about Rs 11.36 crore from advance bookings alone. As the day progressed, spot reservations and positive word-of-mouth may further increase this amount.

Awarapan 2 is currently running across 742 shows, collecting a net of Rs 0.46 crore as of Day 1, according to Sacnilk's early estimates. This brings the total India gross collections to Rs 0.54 crore and total India net to Rs 0.46 crore so far. In comparison, Batwara 1947 received an estimated Rs 1.76 crore in total advance bookings on Day 1, growing to over Rs 4.21 crore including blocked seats. However, Awarapan 2 remains ahead in terms of reported pre-release bookings, surpassing recent Hindi releases like Housefull 5, Shaitaan, and Raid 2.

The two movies will also face competition from Hollywood films such as Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Anne Hathaway's The End of Oak Street. With Awarapan 2 taking an early lead, fans and industry watchers will be closely monitoring the box office performance of these movies in the coming days.
